Shown here is a puzzle that I (and perhaps others) have conceived.   I dub it Pentultimate.  It is a dodecahedron that has been sliced six ways, each slice parallel to and midway between each pair of the twelve faces.

The image on the right shows the result of one 72º face turn.

I do not know whether a mechanical version could easily be built, but you can find an excellent Java version to play with at David Byrden's Puzzle Gallery.

New!  Noel Dillabough's excellent software: Puzzler for Windows now contains a Windows version of Pentultimate, along with 19 other magic puzzles!
